Our Topcoat Paint range covers single-pack and two-pack enamel finishes for hull sides, superstructure and deck – the hard, glossy, UV-resistant colour coat that goes on above the waterline once antifouling and any priming below it are done.

Single-pack (one-part) topcoat is easier to apply and more forgiving for a DIY job, drying by simple evaporation, but doesn’t match the hardness or gloss retention of a two-pack system over several seasons. Two-pack (two-part) polyurethane topcoat needs accurate mixing and stricter application conditions, but cures to a genuinely harder, glossier finish that holds its shine and colour far longer – the choice most owners make when repainting a hull for a lasting result rather than a quick refresh. Whichever you choose, surface prep matters more than the product: a sanded, clean, dry, correctly primed surface is what makes the final coat look good and last, not the paint brand.

Apply in dry, settled conditions within the product’s temperature range, and allow full cure time before launching, since a topcoat that hasn’t properly cured is more vulnerable to marks and damage in the first weeks afloat.
