Our Liferafts range covers leisure and commercial liferafts, with servicing available – the step up in safety equipment once you’re regularly out of realistic swimming distance from shore or crossing open water, giving a stable platform to await rescue.

A liferaft is generally recommended alongside lifejackets and a means of raising the alarm (flares, EPIRB or PLB), not instead of them – it’s the platform you get into once staying in the water is no longer the safest option, keeping you out of the water and visible while help is on the way. Size the liferaft to your typical crew number with a margin, and consider deployment location carefully: it needs to be reachable and launchable quickly in an emergency, which on a smaller boat may mean a valise (soft-pack) raft stowed in a locker rather than a canister mounted on deck. Liferafts need regular servicing to stay reliable – the raft itself, its gas inflation system and its safety pack all have service intervals, and a raft that’s never been serviced since purchase is a real risk if it’s never actually tested.
