Towlines & Handles

Our Towlines & Handles range covers tow lines, bridles and grab handles for towable rides behind a powerboat or RIB, and for towing kayaks, dinghies or a struggling swimmer or paddler safely back to the boat.

A dedicated tow line, sized and rated for the load, is safer than improvising with a general-purpose rope, since towing puts sudden shock loads through the line that a lighter rope or the wrong fitting can’t handle reliably – see our towable section (Inflatables & Towables, above) for the buoyancy-aid and speed guidance that goes with it. A bridle spreads the load across a towable rider or a rescued kayak more evenly than a single attachment point. Grab handles fitted to a kayak or dinghy make an assisted tow or rescue considerably easier and safer for whoever’s doing the towing, since hauling on a boat’s hull or deck fitting directly is awkward and can damage the gelcoat.
