Choose gloves for the specific hazard you’re working around rather than a single all-purpose pair: a wet-grip glove for handling lines and slippery gear is a different product to a cut-resistant glove for handling rigging wire or sharp fittings, and neither substitutes for insulated gloves in cold winter conditions. Arm sleeves add protection from abrasion, sun and cold on jobs where a full jacket sleeve is impractical, such as detailed engine or rigging work.
