3M gelcoat compound and polish combines a cutting compound and a finishing polish in one product for oxidised or scuffed gelcoat. Use it as a single-step compound and polish, or as the second-step finish after a heavier compound, and it will remove P1000 and finer scratches. Apply it wet in a thin film with a wool or foam compounding pad, start with medium pressure and ease off as it dries, then wipe away the residue with a soft cloth. Because it has a longer wet time, it slings less and cleans up more easily. Follow it with 3M boat wax to protect the finish, which matters on a hull that lives afloat in Irish coastal waters.
