This is the blue version of the Pro wind indicator, identical in construction to the red and differing only in colour. Some sailors prefer a colour that contrasts with the sail or the club burgee behind it, and coaches running a fleet often use different colours to tell boats apart at a distance. The balanced vane arm and low-friction pivot mean it keeps working in light airs rather than sitting stalled, and the positive locking system holds the arm in place so it survives being stacked, trailed and carried in and out of the boat park. It fits the masthead of an Optimist and most other dinghies.
