The Selden sheet lead 35 turns a sheet or control line through a smooth, closed eye bolted to the deck, taking loads a plastic fairlead cannot.

Where a line needs turning through a modest angle and a block is more than the job requires, the Selden sheet lead 35 does the work in a fraction of the space. Rated at 700kg safe working load and 1400kg breaking load on line up to 10mm, it takes real load rather than simply guiding a slack rope. It measures 50 x 15 x 25mm and bolts down with two M6 screws on 35mm centres, so it fits neatly on a coachroof, coaming or the after end of a deck organiser run. The bearing surface is smooth and closed, so the line cannot jump out under a shock load. For coastal cruising in Ireland, a fitting with no moving parts is one less thing to service after a winter afloat.
