Selden Composite Cam Cleat 38 Mk2 – 4-12mm Rope, 120kg Safe Working Load

The composite cam cleat 38 is the Mk2 pattern glass-filled cleat for sheets and control lines, holding a 4-12mm rope with a 120kg safe working load.

  • Seldén Mk2 composite cam cleat, part number 433-365-01
  • Rope capacity 4-12mm
  • Safe working load 120kg
  • Weight 42g
  • Hole spacing 38mm centre to centre
  • Composite body resists galvanic corrosion in salt water
  • Sprung jaws grip the rope and release with an upward pull
  • Lighter than the equivalent aluminium cam cleat
  • Takes the Mk2 fairlead, line guide and top guide accessories
  • Suits sheets, reefing lines, kickers and halyard tails
  • Ideal for dinghies, keelboats and cruising yachts

This Selden composite cam cleat 38 is the Mk2 version of the 38mm cleat, the size that handles sheets and the heavier control lines rather than fine trim. It takes rope from 4mm to 12mm and carries a 120kg safe working load, while weighing only 42g — useful where a boat carries a dozen cleats and every gram is aloft or on the foredeck. Because the body is composite rather than metal, there is no galvanic reaction against an aluminium spar or a stainless fastening, which matters on a boat left afloat through an Irish winter. The 38mm fixing centres are standard across the Seldén 38 range, so it swaps directly for an existing cleat.

Note on accessories: Mk2 cleats take the Mk2 fairlead, line guide and top guide. The Mk1 accessories share the 38mm hole centres but are a different pattern.
