Pole ends take the whole load of the guy and get dropped on the foredeck at every gybe, so they wear and occasionally break while the pole itself is still perfectly serviceable. Replacing the end is a fraction of the cost of a new pole. This is the Selden fitting for 25 mm poles, the same end supplied on the tapered 420 pole, so it can be used as a like-for-like replacement. Measure the pole before ordering, as the fitting is sized for 25 mm and will not suit other diameters.
