This is the galvanised version of the wheel retaining clip, suited to trailer as well as trolley axles. Galvanising gives good corrosion resistance at a lower cost than stainless, which makes it a sensible choice where clips are replaced periodically rather than expected to last indefinitely. As with any retaining clip it is worth checking before every launch and recovery, because the clip is small, easily knocked off in transit, and the first sign of a missing one is usually a wheel leaving the axle. Supplied as a direct replacement for the original clip.
