Pneumatic trolley wheels are the part most likely to let you down on a slipway, usually flat after a winter in the dinghy park. The Durastar-Lite replaces the tyre with a solid wheel that cannot puncture and does not soften or harden with temperature, so it rolls the same in February as it does in July. At 37 cm the wheel is large enough to cross soft sand and loose shingle without digging in, which matters on Irish slipways and beaches where the surface changes with every tide. It fits a 25 x 75 mm axle and is the standard fitment on Optiparts Optimist trolleys and the Windesign trolley range, so it drops straight onto most club trolleys.
