The Guy Cotten Chinook is a smock built to be worn all day without wearing you out. Its Glentex fabric pairs a polyester backing with a one-sided PVC coating, and because the panels are high-frequency welded rather than stitched, there are no needle holes for water to find. The neoprene cuffs close tight around the wrist and work with the gloves you’re already wearing, while the adjustable hood and drained zip gusset at the collar keep spray from finding a way in around the neck. Being unlined, it layers easily over a fleece for a cold morning on the water or goes on its own in a summer shower, which suits sailing in Ireland where the weather rarely settles for long.
