Polyform CCE4 Mooring Buoy with Galvanised Centre Rod – Heavy-Duty 75″ Swing Mooring Buoy

A heavy-duty inflatable mooring buoy with a hot-dipped galvanised centre rod and swivel, built for permanent moorings using chain risers.

  • Polyform AS CCE-series inflatable mooring buoy, CCE4 short-rod model
  • 540 mm maximum recommended buoy diameter
  • 855 mm galvanised steel centre rod, 19 mm rod diameter
  • Hot-dipped galvanised rod and swivel throughout
  • Swivel at the lower end takes the mooring load
  • Upper rod section and grip ring coated in dark blue plastic
  • Recommended maximum load 58 kg
  • Gross volume 100 litres, nominal weight 8.8 kg
  • Soft PVC construction, light to handle for its size
  • Supplied factory-assembled, inflate before use
  • Grip ring is for handling only, not for mooring

The Polyform CCE4 mooring buoy is built for swing moorings that need more capacity than the smaller CCE models can carry. Its soft inflatable PVC body rides the swell instead of fighting it, while the galvanised steel rod running through the centre carries the load between the ground chain below and the pick-up above. Because the rod ends in a swivel, the buoy turns freely with wind and tide without twisting up the riser, and moor only from that lower swivel; the dark blue grip ring at the top is for lifting and handling, not for holding the boat. The buoy arrives factory-assembled and needs only inflating before laying, and the manufacturer’s recommended maximum load of 58 kg keeps it working within its rated capacity. For permanent moorings on Galway Bay and the west coast, where salt exposure takes a steady toll on unprotected steel, the galvanised rod and swivel are what keep this buoy in service season after season.
