The Index Marine DR1 is a multi cable deck gland for taking more than one cable through a deck, cabin top or bulkhead. The seal comes as a blank that you drill yourself. As a result, a solar lead, a navigation light cable and an instrument cable can share one tidy fitting. Plugs up to 18mm pass straight through before the cable is sealed, so there is no need to cut off and remake connectors. For clean, accurate holes, Index Marine recommends freezing the seal before drilling. Once fitted, the IP68-rated gland keeps rain and spray out of the cabin. Its stainless steel cover also stands up well to year-round salt exposure in Irish coastal waters.
